what is a Compact Bone
Strong, dense outer layer of bone protecting internal component
what is spongy (cancellous) bone
inner less dense layer containing speculated network called trabeculae

Central cylindrical Canal, running down the shaft of long bones; housing yellow marrow( Fat storage)

Tough, fibrous membrane Cover covering all outer bone surfaces(Except articular cartilage ends)

tissue membrane lining the inner medullary cavity

Opening your center of bone where blood vessels and nerves enter/exit
Red marrow
located in spongy bone in; produces red and white blood cells
What is trabeculae
interspaces filled with red and yellow marrow within the spongy bone
intramembranous Ossification
occurs an embryo to form flat bones. Bones joint at sutures.
Endochondral ossification
form short, regular, and long bones from hyaline cartilage models
Endochondral Occurs from two centers
primary and secondary ossification center
primary ossification center
begins before birth, forming the central shaft(Diaphysis)
secondary ossification center
accuses after birth at the end of long bones(epiphyses)
epiphyseal plate
cartilage plate between diaphysis and epiphysis for growth(visible radiographically)
what is Epiphyseal line?
The line left after full bone grow/ossification is complete( ossification complete ~21 Years of age)
