Current Electricity

circuit

An electrical power source, such as a battery, connected to one or more electrical components, allowing the flow of electric current in a closed loop.

open circuit

A type of circuit that is not complete, preventing the flow of electric current due to a break or disconnection.

closed circuit

A complete circuit that allows electric current to flow without interruption through the electrical components.

series circuit

Circuit in which components are connected end-to-end, so that the current flows through each one after the other (only ONE path)

parallel circuit

Circuit where components are connected across common points, providing multiple paths for current to flow, allowing each component to operate independently.

battery

A device that converts chemical energy into electrical energy, providing power to electrical circuits.

load

An electrical component that consumes electricity, converting it into other forms of energy such as light, heat, or motion.
