two types of epithelia
Simple epithelium and stratified epithelium
4 types of simple epithelium
Simple squamous
Simple cuboidial
Simple columnar
Pseudostratified columnar
Pseudostratified columnar
One layer of tall cells that appears stratifed
four types of stratified epitelium
Stratified squamous, stratified cuboidal, stratified columnar, transitional epithelium.
What is transitional epithelium
mutiple layers of cell that change shape when stretched *(look for bubbles)
Types of stratified squamous cells
Kerantinized: superficial cells are dead
NonKeratinized: superficial cells are living
3 types of connective tissue classifications
Connective tissue proper
Supporting connective tissue
Fluid connective tissue
Subtypes within connective tissue proper
Loose connective: tissue (fewer fibers, more ground substance)
Dense connective: tissue (more fibers, less ground substance)
Types of loose connenctive
Areolar (what you think of when thinking of connective tissue)
Adipose (lots of bubbles)
Reticular (More complicated version of areolar)
Types of dense connective
Regular (Thick sheet, like muscle)
Irregular (whimsey pattern)
Elastic (like alot of ~ put together in sheets)
Types of supporting connective tissue
Cartilage: semisolid matrix
Bone: solid matrix
Types of cartilage
Hyaline (little floating bubbles with clear backround)
Fibrocartilage (Elastic looking + Big bubbles (chondrocytes)
Elastic (bigger bubbles but with stringy backround)
Types of bone
Compact (normal)
Spongy (a porous, lattice-like network of thin bony struts and plates, reminds me of a dragon fruit)
Fluid connective tissue
Blood
three types of muscle tissue
Skeletal (striations)
Cardiac (straitions, intercladed disc)
Smooth
Nervous tissue
big neuron
