Innovation
An invention that is a commercial success
Complexity
The state or quality of being intricate or complicated
Time scale
The time allowed for or taken by a process of sequence of events
Top-down strategy
Involves breaking down a system into component parts e.g leadership makes a decision and forces it down to the workforce.
Bottom-up strategy
Leadership identifies a problem - workforce develop a mechanism to solve it.
Government Intervention
Government regulation to achieve a goal. Strategies include regulation, education, taxes, subsidies.
Macro-energy sustainability
Large-scale sustainable energy production. Wind, wave, geothermal, etc.
Micro-energy sustainability
Involves small scale energy production from exhaustive sources. E.g. solar panels on houses.
Energy security/high demand
The uninterrupted availability of energy sources at an affordable price
