Measures the amount of increase in comparison to the original value, expressed as percentage.
Percentage Increase Formula

Amount of Increase
The difference between the new value and the original value (New Value−Original Value).

Example: 20 to 28 increase
A 40% increase (208×100=40%).
Example: ₱250,000 to ₱320,000 increase
A 28% increase.
Example: ₱67.00 to ₱68.34 increase
A 2% increase.
Example: University enrollees from 2,350 to 3,337
A 42% increase.
Original Price Calculation (Smartphone Task)
If the price becomes ₱13,000 after a ₱1,000 increase, the original price is ₱12,000 (13,000−1,000).
Example: Smartphone price increase percentage
Approximately 8.33% (12,0001,000×100=8.3%).
Example: Math score from 45 to 58
An increase of 28.89% (4513×100).
