Post and lintel building

The most basic principles of architecture, the post are the vertical and the lintel are the horizontal stones

Pediment

the triangular section of the from and back of the temple roof(gabled roof)

Entablature

The upper section of the temple that sits on the columns, there are two sections

Frieze

the top section of the entablature-divided between metopes and triglyphs

Metopes

the lower section of the entablature- blank in the Doric

Capital

the flat part at the top of the column/ shaft. Plain in the Doric
