found in sweat glands, salivary glands, mammary glands

Columnar Epithelium
Found in bronchi of lungs, digestive tract, bladder, male urethra, ducts of some glands

Pseudostratified Columnar Epithelium
Function: protection and secretion
found in trachea and bronchi of lungs

Transitional Epithelium
Functions: permits expansion and recoil after stretching
found in urinary bladder, renal pelvis, ureters

Skeletal Muscle
Responsible for body movement, support, maintaining body temperature
Found in deltoid, pectorals, biceps, triceps

Cardiac Muscles
Has very slow contractions, is involuntary, and autorhythmic

Smooth Muscles
Slowest to contract and relax, invluntary, under autonomic nervous system control
Found in walls of hollow organs, passageways, tracts of respiratory, urinary, and reproductive systems, eyes and skin

Tendon
Function: attaches muscles to bone
made up of epimysium, perimysium, endomysium
Fascia
Connective tissue that covers the epimysium
Actin
Protein that makes up thin filament of sarcomere
Myosin
The protein that makes up the thick filament of the sarcomere
Sarcomere
The contractile unit of the myofibril of striated muscle
Only found in skeletal and cardiac muscle
