Project Proposal
a guide for both the trainees and trainers in attaining task while they are in community immersion. It serves as a basis of designing program of activities and key instruments and inputs in monitoring and evaluating the projects to be undertaken in the community.
Title
must capture the need and present the name of clientele to be served. It must be catchy to the readers. It must be written in all capital letters, bold and centered.
Project Proponent
enumerates the name of persons to be involved in the project, their year level (if trainees), rank (if trainers), contact, member and address or college. If there are several activities that require several leaders in every undertaking, names must be specified per activity.
Project Duration
Specify how many training days needed to complete the project. Specify when the project will commence and when will it be finished. Attached a Gannt Chart of activity on the length of the project.
GANTT CHART
chart used for the duration of the project proposal
Objectives of the Project and the Characteristics of Obj. must be?

Time Bound
Project Description
A. Background of the Project
B. Justification of the Project
C. Benefits Derived from the Project
D. Coverage
Detailed Budgetary Requirements
explains the expenses for the project
Detailed Schedule of Activities
it is needed for you to know what you will do in the project and when
DISASTER
A sudden, catastrophic event that causes significant disruption, destruction, and distress, often overwhelming local resources and requiring external assistance.
Disaster preparedness
having a checklist before chaos hits—think of it as getting ready for the storm.
Disaster management
how we handle things during and after the storm, executing the plan we made.
GO Bag
contains all things necessary for survival in case of disaster.
other names for GO bag
emergency kit
disaster bag
bug-out bag (BOB)
72-hour kit
personal emergency relocation kit (PERK)
survival backpack
quick run bag (QRB)
NATURAL DISASTERS
arise from the occurrence of natural hazards which bring negative impact on humans and their environment.
MAN-MADE DISASTERS
disaster that resulted from drastic human activities.
Geophysical
earthquakes
landslides
volcanic activities
tsunamis
Hydrological
avalanches & floods
Climatological
wildfires
extreme temperatures
drought
Meteorological
typhoons & wave surges
Industrial accidents, nuclear incidents, terrorism, and other disasters resulting from human actions.
house/building fires
conventional warfare
explosions
collapsed building
chemical pollution
chemical poisoning
NDRRMC
This organization is responsible for coordinating and implementing policies, plans, and programs to reduce the impact of disasters and ensure an organized and effective response to emergencies.
PHIVOLCS
Monitors volcanoes and seismic activity in the Philippines, providing early warnings, conducting research, and educating the public to reduce the impact of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.
BFP
Responsible for preventing and suppressing fires, ensuring public safety through fire safety inspections, and providing emergency response services during fire incidents.
PAGASA
responsible for monitoring and forecasting weather conditions, issuing warnings, and providing information related to atmospheric, geophysical, and astronomical events in the Philippines.
Earthquake
a sudden shaking of the ground caused by the movement of tectonic plates beneath the Earth's surface.
focus (hypocenter)
place where the earthquakes originate
epicenter
the place where earthquake occurs in the earth’s surface
causes of earthquakes
Tectonic activity
Volcanic activity
Other causes are collapse of rock formations, underground explosions, and so on
Magnitude
measure of the energy released, usually expressed on the Richter scale
Intensity
measured on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, describes the level of shaking experienced at a specific location
fire
rapid oxidation of a substance that results in the release of heat, light, and different reaction products.
fire triangle
Three (3) components react chemically to form fire
oxygen, heat, and fuel
fire extinguisher
active fire protection device used to extinguish or control small fires, often in emergency situations. It is not intended for use on an out-of-control fire.
P.A.S.S. METHOD
Pull • Aim • Squeeze • Sweep
typhoons
aka tropical cyclones or hurricanes
are powerful circular storms with low air pressure, strong winds, and heavy rain that develop over warm tropical oceans.
Warm water
the primary factor; a typhoon won't form if there isn't enough water available at the correct temperature. The amount of water is the second factor; once the typhoon has grown, it must be fed constantly.
Basic life support (BLS)
refers to the care provided by emergency personnel, medical experts, and trained personnel for individuals experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or airway obstruction.
includes psychomotor skills for high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), using an AED, and relieving obstructed airways for patients of all ages.
ABC of First Aid
check the AIRWAYS
BREATING
CIRCULATION
Primary Survey
the first step in assessing the casualty.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
involves rescue breathing and chest compressions to temporarily pump blood to the brain until specialized treatment is available, with chest compressions being the topmost priority.
When to conduct a CPR?
When someone suddenly collapses
Breathing problems
When someone becomes unconscious
Electrocution injuries
Drowning
Drug overdose
Exposure to smoke or inhalants
Signs of successful CPR
Chest rise and fall with each rescue breath
Checking pulse after the 1st minute of CPR and every few minutes to determine if the pulse has return
Having a rescue feel for carotid pulse while giving chest compression
CPR procedure
Check the scene and call 911
Assess the casualty’s pulse and breathing
Give 30 chest compressions
Give 2 rescue breaths
Repeat the 30:2 ratio
Infant CPR
Shout and Tap
give 30 compressions
open the airway
give 2 gentle breaths
Foreign body obstruction (choking)
when an object or substance becomes trapped in a person's airway, digestive system, or other body parts, such as accidentally swallowing or inhaling.
Types of Upper Airway Obstruction
Tongue
Vomit
Foreign Body
Swelling
Spasm
When to stop performing CPR?
When Advanced Help Arrives
When you become too exhausted or tired to continue (Physical Fatigue)
When the victim shows signs of life
When the victim dies
Pallor mortis
paleness of the skin which happens in the 15–120 minutes after death
Livor mortis
settling of the blood in the lower, or dependent, portion of the body, causing a purplish red discoloration of the skin.
Algor mortis
the body turn cold
Rigor mortis
stiffness of the limbs
Rescue breathing or mouth-to-mouth mistakes
– Not opening the Airway
– Not making a Seal
– Over-inflating the Lungs
Chest compression mistakes
– Shallow Chest Compressions
– Inadequate recoil of Chest Wall
– Long pauses in Chest Compressions
