How is resistance affected?
The resistivity of the object/material
The geometry (size, shape, cross-section, length) of the object
What are properties of ohmic graphs?
Must pass through origin
Linear relationship between voltage and current
Outline the flow of energy in a circut. (stored, transferred, transformed)
Energy is stored in battery cell as stored chemical energy
Stored chemical energy is transformed into electrical potential energy
Energy is transferred through the circuit wires into components
Electrical energy is transformed into useful energy for the components, and transformed into thermal and light energy for resistors/lamps.
What is voltage?
Voltage is the electric potential difference between two points in a circuit. Measured in Volts.
What is Current?
Current is the rate of flow of electric charge in a circuit, measured in Amperes.
What is Resistance?
Resistance is the opposition to the flow of electric current in a circuit, measured in Ohms.
What is the effect of adding more components in a circuit towards V, I, R?
Adding more components increases the total resistance of the circuit.
Adding more components decreases the current of the circuit.
Adding more components does not affect the voltage, because the voltage across the power source remains constant.
