Natural Resources
Essential elements such as plants, soil, sunlight, water, wildlife, fossil fuels, and minerals that people rely on daily for food, shelter, and energy creation.
Non-renewable Energy Resources
Limited energy resources—such as oil, gas, coal, and metals—that cannot be replaced once overused.
Renewable Natural Resources
Naturally replenished resources—such as sunlight, air, water, and plants—that require protection to maintain ecosystem balance.
Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle
A practice aimed at minimizing pollution by finding multiple uses for items and reducing overall waste generated.
Planting Trees
An effective strategy for reducing global warming, as trees absorb carbon dioxide, which comprises 82% of greenhouse gases.
Hydroelectric Power
Electricity generated from the rapid flow of water, typically using a dam to store river water in a reservoir.
Solar Energy
Energy captured from the sun using solar panels, which convert sunlight into electricity for immediate use or storage in batteries.
Wind Energy
Electricity produced from moving air using large windmills known as wind turbines.
Alternative Resources
Cheap, durable, and pollution-free energy options—such as hydroelectric power, wind energy, and solar energy—used as substitutes for fossil fuels.
Ozone Layer
A protective atmospheric region located roughly between 15km and 35km above Earth's surface that shields against harmful ultraviolet radiation from the Sun.
Ozone Depletion
The breakdown of the ozone layer caused by harmful compounds like Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) from appliances, along with oxides of nitrogen and sulphur.
Ozone Hole
A region of severe ozone layer depletion, first discovered in 1985 over Antarctica.

Ground-Level Ozone
Dangerous ozone formed in the troposphere when pollution combines with heat and sunlight.
