Table of Specification (TOS)
A test blueprint that shows the relationship between learning objectives, content areas, cognitive skills, and the number of test items.
Learning Competencies
The specific skills that students should master during the course of instruction.
Content Areas
The specific topics that were taught during instruction and are included in the assessment.
Cognitive Levels
The levels of thinking based on Bloom's Taxonomy, specifically: Remembering, Understanding, Applying, and Analyzing.
Test Question Preparation
The process of creating assessment items that accurately measure students' knowledge and skills while remaining free from bias and ambiguity.
Valid
A characteristic of a good test ensuring it measures what it is intended to measure.
Reliable
A characteristic of a good test indicating it provides consistent and stable results.
Objective Tests
A category of test questions in English that includes Multiple Choice, True or False, Matching Type, and Completion.
Subjective Tests
A category of test questions in English that includes Short Answer and Essay Questions.
Stem
The part of a multiple-choice question that presents the initial problem or question clearly.
Distractors
Realistic but incorrect options included in multiple-choice questions to challenge the student's knowledge.
Matching-Type Questions
A type of test where items in one column are related to responses in another, typically providing more choices than answers.
Essay Questions
Questions that focus on higher-order thinking and require clear directions along with provided scoring criteria.
Test Blueprint
An alternative name for a Table of Specification (TOS) that serves as a guide for item distribution.
