day one, the uterus lining breaks down.

when and what is the second stage

day 4 - 14 lining of uterus builds up, ready to receive an fertilised egg.

when and what is the third stage

day 14 is when the egg is released. (ovlation)

when and what is the fourth stage

day 14-28 wall is maintained, if no fertilised egg is not in uterus by day 28. The uterus lining breaks down again and the cycle restarts.

Function of FSH

Follicle stimulating hormone. Made in the pituitary gland, helps egg mature in the ovary. Also telling it to make the hormone oestrogen.

Function of LH

Also is made in pituitary gland, but makes ovulation. Also makes progestrogen.
