Project Anawim Reflection Vocabulary

Vocabulary terms and definitions derived from Lorie T. Fuenlabrada's Project Anawim reflection paper regarding acts of kindness towards a construction worker.

Project Anawim

A meaningful experience that taught the student the importance of compassion, generosity, and helping others without expecting anything in return.

Construction worker

The recipient chosen by the student for Project Anawim, whom they often saw working at a place where they went for fresh air and peace.

Tatay

The name used by the student to refer to the construction worker they became familiar with over time.

Small bag of groceries

The gift the student decided to give to the construction worker as a simple way of helping him.

Tatay’s companion

The person who was with the construction worker inside the house and who first talked to the students and accepted the groceries.

Compassion

One of the key values the student learned to practice toward others after seeing the impact of a simple act of kindness.

Generosity

A trait the student was inspired to develop, realizing that helping others does not always require something big to make them feel appreciated.
