What slope has a direct relationship? Why?
Positive. Because when one variable increases so does the other.
What slope has a indirect relationship? Why?

“more than”
“at least”
“fewer than”
“in total”
What does extrapolation mean?
Using background knowledge and trends in the graph to predict past or future data.
How do you find past data using extrapolation/
Look at trends in the beginning of the data set then infer.
How do you find future data using extrapolation?
Look at the trends at the end of the data set and infer?
Make sure that your infrences make ______________
sense
Is it okay to occasionally use outside data?
Yes
What is proportional reasoning?
A fancy term to say “the ability to compare terms”
What is a common way of solving proportional reasoning?
Cross multiplication.

5 and 3
In the equation “5x+3y=8” what are the variables?
x and y
In the equation “5x+3y=8” what is the constant?
8
What is the Pythagorean theorem?
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
What is scientific notation?
A way to write long numbers shorthand or small number more manageably.
