1.Evaluation
Inspect the belts for signs of wear, cracks, fraying or any other damage
Check for proper tension Belts should have a slight give when pressed with moderate force
2.Replacement
Replace any belts showing significant wear or damage advisable to replace all belts at once to ensure uniformity and prevent issues choose highly quality belts suitable for your AHU specifications to ensure longevity and reliability
3.Adjustment
Use the manufacturer guidelines to adjust the tension of the belt correctly
Overtightened belt can cause premature wear on bearing and other component
Loose belt can slip and reduce efficency
Tension adjustment may involve loosening or tightening the tensionsing mechnanism such as tensioner pulley or adjustable motor mount
4.Alignment
Ensure proper alignment of pulleys to prevent premature wear and tear on the belts
Use a straight edge or laser alignment tool to align pulley horizontally and vertically misaligned pulley can cause belts to wear unevenly and lead to vibration issues
5.Testing
After adjustments, start the AHU and observe the belts in operation
Listen for any unusal noises or vibrations that may indicate further adjustments are needed
Monitor the belts periodically, especially after initial adjustments, to ensure they maintain proper tension and alignment
6.Documentation
Keep detailed records of belt maintenance, including replacement dates, tension adjustments and any issues encountered
Note any unusual wear patterns or recurring problems for future reference
