PECOT
Participants, Exposure, Comparison, Outcomes, Time - the 5 parts of every epidemiological study.
Cohort Study
A study design where a group of individuals is followed over time to assess the development of outcomes.
Exposure Group (EG)
The group in an epidemiological study that is being exposed to a factor being studied.
Comparison Group (CG)

Prevalence

Exposure Group Occurrence (EGO)
The occurrence (or risk) of disease in the exposure group, calculated as a/EG.
Comparison Group Occurrence (CGO)
The occurrence (or risk) of disease in the comparison group, calculated as b/CG.
