Character
Individuals in the story who drive the narrative and possess traits, motives, and psychology
Static Character
Character that remains unchanged throughout the story
Dynamic Character
Character that undergoes significant change or growth throughout the story
Characterization
The representation of a character's traits, motives, and psychology
Direct Characterization
Author directly provides information about the character's traits, motives, and psychology
Indirect Characterization
Author reveals a character's traits, motives, and psychology through their actions and dialogue
Conflict
Opposition of forces or individuals that drives the narrative forward
Internal Conflict
Battle within the main character's mind or emotions
External Conflict
Problem or struggle between a character and an outside force or another character
Setting
The time and place in which the story takes place, providing context and influencing the characters
Foreshadowing
A plot element that hints at events or developments that will occur later in the story

First Person Point of View
Narrator is a character in the story, providing their own personal perspective
Third Person Limited Point of View
Narrator has access to the thoughts and feelings of only one character

Narrator knows the thoughts, actions, and feelings of all characters
Imagery
The use of descriptive language that appeals to the reader's senses, creating vivid mental images
Tone
