Verbal Alarms
Reports of fires or requests for service coming directly to the Fire Station or Fire Company rather than through the Fire Communications Center.
Purpose (Verbal Alarm Procedure)
To provide immediate service to requests originating outside the Fire Communications Center.
Scope of GAG: 3-2
Applies to all Fire Department personnel.
Initial Captain's Responsibility
Notify the Communications Dispatcher of the reported emergency and proceed immediately to handle the situation.
Status Report Requirement
A report that should be given to the Dispatcher upon sizing up the conditions of the emergency.
Protocol for Difficulties
Immediately request the service of a Battalion Chief or Division Head.
