Steer Wear: River Wear (side of ribs from weighted and then unweighted load) , Shoulder wear (scrub or inflation), Feathering (toe in toe out), center wear (inflation)
Drive Wear: alternate lug (tall tire short tire), Heal Toe wear (torque), shoulder or center wear (pressure)

Regional Day Cab
6×4 tandem drive axel can also go up to 6×6 8×4 8×6 for super heavy
Regional Heavy haul
weight should be placed on back drive axel to prevent slip wear
Class 8
Steer: Shoulder wear (scrub or inflation), feathering (toe in toe out), cupping (truck shocks)
Drive: heal toe (torque), shoulder wear (inflation or scrub), center wear (inflation), tire slip rear axel (weight distribution)
can have drop down axels to help with weight
tire ply rating is important depending on how heavy of a load

regional day cab
6×2
weight on rear powered drive is very important
Can be tandem axel or a drop axel but only one true drive axel with power
Similar to 4×2 but can hold more weight with the extra pusher/drop axel and similar to a 6×4 but gets less traction
Class 8
Steer: shoulder wear (scrub or pressure), center wear(pressure), feathering(toe in toe out), cupping (weight change)
Drive: heal toe (torque), shoulder wear (scrub or pressure), center wear (pressure), tire slip (weight distribution)
dead axel wear: shoulder scrub (axel drag), flat spots (tire skipping on the road), river wear (weight change)

Dump truck
6×4
1 steer (float tire) 2 drive (tall tire 11r)
steer wear: cutting chipping (offroad debris), shoulder (scrub or inflation), punch/stone drilling (rocks pushing into belts)
drive wear: on construction tire wear can be worn off fast
front tandem- heal toe (torque) can also have a diagonal direction, center lug wear (slip from torque), sidewall
rear tandem- scrub/lug torn (dragging force in turns), dual miss match (tall tire short tire), sidewall impact, shoulder rub

Heavy haul dump truck
8×4 or 10×4
drop axels for added weight carrying ability can be one axel or two
drop axels can be steerable
Steer: shoulder wear (scrub or inflation), cutting chipping(debris), stone drilling (rock pushing into belts)
Drive axel front: heal toe (torque), center abrasion (spinning from uneven weight and power), side wall
Drive axel rear: shoulder wear (dragging, inflation), tall tire short tire, sidewall
drop down axels: fixed axels have most wear from dragging and rubbing steer is less problematic

box truck regional
class 6 and 7
main wear is gonna be scrub issues and sidewall punctures
all position tires are very common

concrete mixer
class 8
trucks are top heavy
can be 6×4 8×4 10×4
2 steer 4 drive axels but can have the drop axels for weight
steer (float tire): shoulder wear (rubbing), chipping (debris), cupping (mixer vibrates truck causing uneven wear
Drive: heal toe (torque), stone drilling (rock penetrating belt), concrete and chemical wear breaking down tire compound
Drop Axel: dragging and lateral wear

waste refuse trucks
class 7 and 8
steer: shoulder and side wall wear (curbs), cupping (breaking and weight shifting)
drive: heal toe (torque), casing penetration (debris)

Long haul sleeper
class 8
steer: shoulder and center wear (inflation), alignment toe wear
drive: heal toe (torque), feathering
