corrosion is a natural phenomenon that attacks metal by a chemical or electrochemical action and converts it into a metalic compound such as an oxide, hydroxide, or sulfate. corrosion occurs because of the tendancy for metals to return to their natural state. noble metals like gold and platinum do not corrode since they are chemically uncombined in their natural state. conditions that can cause corrosion to devlop and worsen are moisture(acts as an electrolyte) oxygen(acts as a catalyst) chemicals(initate or catalyze the electromechanical process), and temperature(accelerates the process)

what is the differnece between an active and latent error
and active error is an error that is commited by a person doing the work. a latent error is an error that comes from an administartive decision, a flaw in the system, or a culture that exists in a workplace. a latent error may take a long time to show up and usually show up as an active error that has its roots in the latent error
