Educational Institution
A place where learners of different ages gain an education and carries out educational activities based on the age grade system.
University of Karueein
The oldest existing, and continually operating educational institution in the world, founded in 859 AD in Fez, Morocco.
Formal Institution
Deals with the conventional classroom where learning takes place in recognized institutions and earns certificates or credentials based on curriculums set by government-appointed technical committees.
Informal Institution
Learning that occurs outside of the conventional classroom, is not restricted to a certain location, and integrates with surroundings like home or cultural settings.
Vision Statement
The end desire aspiration of an academic institution describing the distinct and motivating long-term desired transformation; typically a clear, memorable, and concise one-sentence statement with an average length of 14 words.

A University committed to Exemplary Christian Education for Life (EXCEL) and responsive to the needs of the total person and the world.
Mission Statement
Relates to the intention of the institution’s existence, answering "What you do or Who you do this for"; it is usually clear, valuable, and concise (5 to 14 words, maximum of 20).
Mission of Central Philippine University
To carry out a program of spiritual, intellectual, moral, scientific, technological, and cultural training, and allied studies under influences which strengthen Christian faith, build up character and promote scholarship, research and community service.

The highly commendable quality or feature of a person's worth and/or deeds, including competence, technology, scholarship, and research.
Scientia et Fides
The university motto of Central Philippine University, meaning "Science and Faith," emphasizing the integration of academic knowledge and spiritual belief.
EXCEL
An acronym used in the CPU vision standing for Exemplary Christian Education for Life.
