Point Slope Form

Given Point $(x_1, y_1)$

The specific set of coordinates plugged into point-slope form for $x_1$ and $y_1$, distinct from the general variables $x$ and $y$ which remain in the equation.

Variables $x$ and $y$

The general algebraic terms in a linear equation that remain in the final formula and represent values that keep changing along the line.

$y$-intercept

The point where a line crosses the vertical axis, represented by $b$ in slope-intercept form.
