First you observe the event, then you feel a physological arrousal, finally you intepret event as an emotion.
Cannon-Bard Theory
First you observe the stimulus, then physcological response and experience the emotion at the same time.
Schachter Stimulus
First you observe the stimulus, then you experience a physcological response and a cognative apprasail (ie you think about it), then you finally experience the emotion.
