Muscle Tissue
Tissue type responsible for movement, either voluntarily or involuntarily.
Nervous Tissue
Tissue type composed of neurons and neuroglia, responsible for transmitting impulses.
Smooth Muscle
Muscle tissue that contracts involuntarily, is non-striated, and found in the walls of internal organs.
Neurons
Excitable cells that transmit electrical signals.
Cardiac Muscle
Muscle tissue that contracts involuntarily, is striated, and found in the heart.
Neuroglia
Support cells of nervous tissue.
Skeletal Muscle
Muscle tissue that contracts voluntarily, is striated, and connected to bones.
Neurons
Nerve cells that convert stimuli into nerve impulses.
Neuroglia
Nerve cells that support and protect neurons.
Smooth muscle contractions
Involuntary muscle contractions.
Cardiac muscle contractions
Involuntary muscle contractions found in the heart.
Skeletal muscle contractions
Voluntary muscle contractions.
Neurons
Carry impulses around the body.
Neuroglia
Non-excitable cells that support and protect neurons.
Tissue
A type of tissue found throughout the body.
Connective Tissue
Provides support and connects different parts of the body.
Epithelial Tissue
Covers surfaces and lines body cavities.
Muscle Tissue
Generates force and enables movement.
Nervous Tissue
Transmits information throughout the body.
Skeletal muscle
The somatic nervous system controls this muscle tissue.
