The argument is valid and is has true premises.

When the premises are meant to show that the conclusion must be true.

Makes a general claim on the strength of certain statements.

Definition of an Enthymeme

A chain made of two or more arguments that are joined together by one or more implicit statements that form the conclusion.

Objection

The argument challenges an argument by saying it has a specific law.

What is a Counterexample

An example that goes against the claim in the premises.
