What is a PJC
An extra QRS complex that originates from the AV junction that occurs earlier than expected.
P waves may be normal or inverted
There will be a non compensatory pause
Are PJC clinically significant
If isolated no. If there is more than 4-6/min enhanced automaticity or re-entry in the AV node
What is a junctional escape rhythm
The SA node is failing and the AV node is taking over as pace maker at 40-60bpm
What is a nonparoxysmal junctional tachycardia
The AV node is the orgin at 60-140 bpm
What is paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia
abrupt beginning of a rate from the AV node 150-250bpm
What is the identifying factor of a junctional rhythm
an abnormal P wave that indicates atrial depolarization was retrograde. This P wave may be hidden in QRS or ST
What is the difference between a PJC and a junctional rhythm
PJC is a single complex; the other is when the AV junction pacemaker is firing
What are accelerated junction rhythm and junctional tachycardia examples of
non-paroxysmal junctional tachycardia
What casues non-paroxysmal junctional tachycardia
Increased automaticity of the AV node
Where and how does paroxysmal SVT ordinate
accessory or reentry pathway, abruptly
