Poultry Health & Sanitation Management

The practice of maintaining good hygiene and sanitation to protect the flock from harmful pathogenic agents.

Basis of Health Management

The foundation of managing poultry health, including preventive medication programs and suitable monitoring programs.

Quarantine

The isolation of sick animals and newly acquired ones for 40 days to prevent the spread of diseases within the flock.

Hygiene

The control of minimizing contacts of the flock from disease-causing microorganisms to maintain their health.

Vaccination

The administration of biological products prepared from the organisms causing the disease to trigger the immune system of the birds and provide protective immunity.

Vaccine

Biological products prepared from the organisms causing the disease, used to prevent and control diseases in poultry.

Live vaccines

Vaccines made from live organisms, available against most viral diseases in poultry.

Sanitation

The practice of keeping exposure to disease-causing organisms to a low level through proper cleaning and disinfecting of poultry houses, premises, and equipment.

Disinfectants for Poultry Farms

Chemical compounds used for disinfection, including phenolic compounds, organic iodine combinations/iodophores, and quaternary ammonium compounds/quats.

Fowl Pox

A viral disease in poultry characterized by nodular proliferative skin lesions on the featherless parts of the body.

Ranikhet Disease

Infectious Coryza

Curled Toe Paralysis

A deficiency disease in poultry caused by a lack of riboflavin, resulting in poor growth, weakness, emaciation, diarrhea, and curled toes.
