Structuralism. This is the theory of consciousness that seeks to analyse sensation, mental images and feelings to form complex experiences

By using introspection. This is when someone gains knowledge about a mental state by observations of their conscious thoughts and feels.

In his lab, the participants were trained to report their sensory events. Participants were then presented with a stimulus(image). That stimulus is controlled and standardised.
