Medical office safety plan
Should include OSHA hazard communication, electrical safety, fire safety, emergency action plan, chemical safety, blood borne pathogen exposure, personal protective equipment, and needle stick prevention.
Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Contain information on each chemical in the workplace, as required by OSHA's hazard communication standard.
Chemical Safety Precautions
Store caustic chemicals below eye level, carry containers with both hands, work in ventilated areas, and wear protective gear.
Eyewash Station
Should be checked monthly to ensure it is working properly and used for 15 minutes in case of exposure.

The study of the way people work; includes maintaining posture, adjusting seating, taking breaks, and lifting properly.

Keep sharp instruments and chemicals out of children's reach; ensure safe flooring and handrails for patients with disabilities and the elderly.
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in employment, transportation, public accommodations, communications, and access to state and local government programs and services.
Sanitization/Disinfection
Cleaning items that touch only healthy, intact skin, such as blood pressure cuffs, ophthalmoscopes, and otoscopes.
