Simple Random Sampling
Sample giving each member of the population an equal chance of being chosen
Stratified Random Sampling
Population is divided into subgroups, so that the subjects within each subgroup have a common characteristic. A simple random sample is drawn from each subgroup according to their proportion of the population.
Systematic Random Sampling
A starting point is chosen at random from the sampling frame and thereafter at regular intervals.
Cluster Sampling
Population is divided into clusters, and some of these are chosen at random. Then units are chosen within each cluster.
Quota Sampling
Selection of the sample is made by the interviewer, who has been given quotas to fill from specified sub-groups of the population.
Convenience Sampling
Subjects are chosen in the most convenient way
