What is the purpose of Simple Squamous?
Air and fluid diffusion
Where is the simple squamous located?
Alveoli, capillaries, blood vessels, and lymph vessels.
What is the purpose of Stratified Squamous ?
Areas of high friction
Where is the stratified squamous located?
Keratinized: skin (keeps the moister out)
Non-keratinized: oral cavity, anal cavity, vagina, and esophagus
What is the purpose of the simple cuboidal?
secretion, protection, movement
Where is the simple cuboidal located?
Bronchioles, kidney tubules, secretory ducts of small glands (follicular cells of thyroid), choroid plexus (ependymal cells)
