Transversal
a line that intersects two or more lines
Interior Angles
when two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, four of these are formed inside the parallel lines
Exterior Angles
when two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, four of these are formed outside the parallel lines
Polygon
a plane figure with at least three straight sides and angles, and typically five or more
Regular Polygon
a shape in which all sides are congruent and all interior angles are congruent
Indirect Measurement
uses similar figures to find a missing measure when the measurement is difficult to find directly
Congruent
identical in form; exactly equal in size and shape
Supplementary Angle
two angles whose sum is 180 degrees
Complementary Angles
two angles who sum is 90 degrees
Parallel Lines
lines in the same plan that do not intersect
Perpendicular Lines
lines that intersect at right angles
