membranes that line the walls of body cavities.

Sagittal Plane

Plane or section that divides a structure into right and left portion

Pleura

a thin, double-layered membrane that surrounds the lungs.

Frontal (Coronal) Plane

A vertical plane that divides the body into front (anterior) and back (posterior)

Transverse Plane

Plane that divides structure into superior and inferior portions.

Pericardium

Serous membrane that surrounds the heart
