• “Spanish Flu” actually started in Kansas

  • Spain was able to report on it because they were not in WWI and people believed that’s where it started.

• spread through movement of troops

  • war is unsanitary; close quarters and such

• Women- worked in factories while men went to the front lines.

• African Americans move from the South to the North for opportunity, and wealth.

• secret bars that popped up during prohibition.

• “Black Wall street” was destroyed by angry white citizens seeking revenge.

• set fire to buildings and shops ppl down.

Lynching of Fred Rouse

• Dec. 11, 1921

• Fred Rouse crossed a picket line in Fort Worth and got into a fight and was dragged out of the line and lynched
