Beaker
A cylindrical glass container used for stirring, mixing, and heating liquids in a laboratory setting.
Volumetric Pipette
A laboratory tool used for the extremely accurate measurement of a specific volume of liquid.
Erlenmeyer Flask
A conical-shaped laboratory flask with a narrow neck and a flat bottom, used for mixing and storing liquids.
Volumetric Flask
A piece of laboratory glassware calibrated to contain a precise volume of liquid at a particular temperature.
Micropipette
A high-precision instrument used to measure and transfer very small volumes of liquid, often in the microliter range.
Pasteur Pipette
A simple glass or plastic dropper used to transfer small amounts of liquid, usually without graduated markings.
Round-Bottom Flask
A flask with a spherical base used for uniform heating or boiling of liquids, often in distillation.
Distillation Flask
A specialized flask used in distillation processes to separate mixtures based on boiling points.
Graduated Cylinder
A tall, narrow container with volume markings used to measure the volume of liquids.
Burette
A long, graduated glass tube with a stopcock at the bottom, used for dispensing precise volumes of liquid in titrations.
Separatory Funnel
A funnel used to separate immiscible liquids of different densities.
Crucible
A ceramic or metal container used for melting or heating substances to very high temperatures.
Mortar and Pestle
A pair of tools used to crush, grind, and mix solid substances into a fine powder.
Scoopula
A spatula-like utensil used primarily in laboratories to transfer solids.
Triple Beam Balance
A manual instrument used to measure the mass of an object with three beams of different scales.
Ring Stand
A metal pole with a heavy base used to provide support for other laboratory equipment like clamps and rings.
Wire Gauze
A sheet of thin metal that has a net-like appearance, placed over an iron ring to support and protect glassware during heating.
Clay Triangle
A wire frame with porcelain insulators used to support a crucible while it is being heated over a Bunsen burner.
Bunsen Burner
A common piece of laboratory equipment that produces a single open gas flame, used for heating, sterilization, and combustion.
Liebig Condenser
A piece of laboratory equipment used to cool and condense hot vapors into liquids.
Boiling Tube
A thick-walled glass tube designed to withstand the heat of a direct flame while boiling substances.
Petri Dish
A shallow cylindrical glass or plastic lidded dish used by biologists to culture cells or small organisms.
Centrifuge
A machine using centrifugal force for separating substances of different densities, such as laboratory samples.
Desiccator
A sealable enclosure containing a desiccant, used to preserve moisture-sensitive items.
pH Meter
An electronic instrument used to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a liquid solution.
Magnetic Stirrer
A laboratory device that employs a rotating magnetic field to cause a stir bar to spin in a liquid.
Bosshead Clamp
A metal piece used to connect other clamps or equipment at various angles to a retort stand.
Bulb Pipette Filler
A rubber tool used to provide suction for drawing liquid into a pipette.
Spotting Plate
A porcelain or plastic plate with small wells used for conducting several small-scale reactions simultaneously.
Inoculating Needle
A laboratory tool used in microbiology to transfer and streak microorganisms to a growth medium.
Spirit Lamp
Also known as an Alcohol Lamp, it is used to produce an open flame for heating in laboratory tasks.
Filter Flask (Kitasato Flask)
A flask designed for use in vacuum filtration, often referred to as a Kitasato or Büchner flask.
Büchner Funnel
A piece of laboratory equipment used in suction or vacuum filtration to separate solids from liquids.
Gas Washing Bottle
A container used to pass gas through a liquid to remove impurities or moisture.
Thistle Funnel
A glass tube consisting of a shaft with a funnel-shaped top, used to add liquid to an existing system or flask.
Column Chromatography
A glass column used as a technique to separate chemical substances from a complex mixture.
Parafilm
A moisture-resistant, flexible plastic film used for sealing or protecting vessels such as flasks or beakers.
