ACCEPTABLE GOODS

No article shall be permitted on board the aircraft either as baggage or cargo, that cannot be transported in accordance with applicable laws and governmental or Carrier’s regulations that are considered as dangerous, hazardous or offensive by nature or of which the exportation, importation or carriage is prohibited by any country or state from, to or over which the flight(s) will be performed which would not be suitable for transportation on the aircraft.

The Airline reserves the right to transport the cargo, according to the transportation, handling and storage methods in force.

Animals have been transported by air since the early1930's. In today's modern world, carriage of live animals by air is considered the most humane and expedient method of transportation over long distances.

LIVE ANIMALS REGULATIONS (LAR)

The acceptance of live animal’s consignment is subject to the conditions of the __________ as described in the IATA Live Animals Manual ad to Carrier’s Special Regulations which are closely related to the type of animal, type of aircraft, temperature at origin, en route and at destination.


It has all the information you need to make sure your live animal shipmentsare handled and transported in the most expedient and humane manner and at theirdestination in good health, whether it’s a pet, day-old chicks, racehorses orsomething a little more exotic.

LIVE ANIMALS IMPORTANT NOTES - HEALTH AND CONIDITIONS OF ANIMALS(S)

  • Only animals which appear to be in good health and condition and fit to travel to the final destination will be accepted for carriage by air.

  • The shipper is required to declare when animals are pregnant, or have given birth in the last 48 hours.

  • Mammals which are declared to be pregnant will not be accepted unless accompanied by a veterinary certificate certifying that the animals are fit to travel and there is no risk of birth occurring during the journey.

LIVE ANIMALS IMPORTANT NOTES - PACKING AND MARKING

  • Packing must be clean, and leak-proof and escape proof to allow safe handling carriage.

  • At least on “LIVE ANIMALS” label or tag, properly completed, must attached to each live animal container, unless otherwise stated in the individual container requirements.

  • Containers carrying animals which can inflict poisonous bites or stings must be marked “POISONOUS’

  • Additional articles (Example: food, to accompany the shipment must be included in the chargeable weight and, if to be shipped as separate pieces, marked as forming part of the shipment.

  • Animals do not normally require additional feeding during 12 hours following the time of dispatch. Water must be provided if total journey time exceeds 12hours. Care must be taken not to overfill the container.

  • If feeding is required due to an unforeseen delay, meat, biscuits and canned pet food must be provided but care must be taken not to overfeed

  • Confirmation must have been received of reserved space on Carrier’s flights(s) and possible connecting flight(s) of other carrier(s) up to airport of destination.

  • Shipper must submit container photo/diagram and height of the animals to office for approval.

Live animals may not be consolidated, with other goods; a consolidated shipment may, however, be wholly composed of five animals

In order to avoid fighting, animals shipped in group pens should be housed together as a group prior to shipment and not be mixed with other animals before loading on the aircraft.

Upon acceptance, pallet(s) will be offloaded in case any requirement cannot be fulfilled.

ARMS, AMMUNITION, WAR MATERIAL - Carriage of Firearms and Other Weapons in Philippine Airlines

Carriage of firearms by authorized and duly qualified persons are only accepted as checked baggage that is inaccessible to any unauthorized person during the flight when the following conditions below are met.

All firearms accepted for carriage (properly packed in a case) must be:

(1) declared as unloaded and/or disabled by the passenger or appropriate authority;

(2) checked-in and placed in a suitable container, for stowing in the cargo/baggage hold compartment; and

(3) covered by special authorization in accordance with the laws of the States involved. It is the passenger's responsibility prior to travel to determine the required documentation specific to country of departure, destination, and transit if applicable.

DANGEROUS GOODS

are articles or substances which are capable of posing significant risk to health, safety or to property when transported by air. Some dangerous goods are too dangerous to be carried by aircraft, other may be carried on cargo aircraft only and some are acceptable on both cargo and passenger aircraft.

A. Identify, correctly and fully, all dangerous articles and dangerous substances within the consignment;

B. Classify each item of dangerous goods by determining under which of the nine classes it falls and, where relevant, determining any subsidiary hazards;

C. Where relevant, assign each item of dangerous goods to one of the three packing groups within the assigned class or division:

Packing Group I: High Danger,

Packing Group II: Medium Danger,

Packing Group III: Low Danger

  • The proper dangerous goods label “This Side Up” label; and

  • For the carriage of packages acceptable only on cargo aircraft, the “Cargo Aircraft only” label.
