- Elections held, Bolsheviks only won 24% of seats compared to the SR's who only won 52% seats

- CA convenes as marial law declared in Petrograd to stop riots
- This is due the voting that was occuring, it was going very bad for the BOlsheviks
- They did have proletariat vote, peasants voted in blocks and out in the open.

- Lenin signaled to the Bolsheviks abt a walk out
- CA passed decrees called for...
- Fair an equiprtable distribution of land among the peasantry
- Democratic peace with Germany
- Declaration of a republic
4.40 am, 6 Jan 1918
- the head guard at Tauride palace orderd the meeting closed because the guards were "too tired."
5 pm, 6 Jan 1918
- Tauride Palce was locked and guarded by troops, guarded by troops. Delegates were presented with a decree declaring the CA dissolved.

Bolsheviks learned that violent indimidation works.
Bolsheviks hold on power wasn't secure, didn't have much support in other areas
Argued that electing CA wasn't nesscery because there was already an All-Russian rep body, and it's the Soviet gov in Oct 1917
