What is one method to place the Lucas Back Plate under the patient?

Lift the patient's torso and slide the Back Plate under from the head.

What is another method to place the Lucas Back Plate under the patient?

Log roll the patient and slide the Back Plate in from the side.

What should be done after the Back Plate is placed under the patient?

Continue manual CPR and turn on the Lucas device.

How is the LUCAS Upper Part removed from the bag?

Hold the handles on the Support Legs.

What confirms the Claw Locks are open when removing the LUCAS Upper Part?

Pulling the Release Rings once, then letting go of them.

What confirms the Lucas support legs are securely attached to the back plate?

Hearing a click when pulling up on it.

What is used to confirm the Suction Cup is immediately above the end of the sternum?

A finger.

How is the Lucas device repositioned if the Suction Cup is not correctly placed above the sternum?

By pulling the Support Legs to adjust the position.

What does adjusting the height of the Suction Cup set?

The Start Position.

What two things does the Start Position on the Lucas Device establish?

The point where the device starts its two-inch compressions and the point where it returns the chest for full recoil.

How is the Suction Cup pulled down to touch the patient's chest?

With two fingers, until the Pressure Pad touches the chest without compressing it.

What is done after locking the start position on the Lucas Device?

Check for proper position, adjust if needed, and press Start.

What should not delay Lucas Device application?

Applying the Stabilization Strap.

What is the Lucas Stabilization Strap used to secure?

The device itself, not the neck.

Where can the Lucas Stabilization Strap be placed relative to a c-collar?

On the outside of a c-collar.

What is secured in the patient straps at the end of Lucas Device application?

The patient's wrists.
