Abyssinian
Cat breed with tiger markings on forehead and cheeks, but no tiger markings on body, legs, & tail; has ticking (agouti pattern).
Somali
Long-haired version of Abyssinian.
American Shorthair
Cat breed with a round head with a short muzzle and a classic tabby pattern.
Bengal
Cat breed with spots or rosettes on body and may have tiger markings on legs and tail.
Birman
Long-haired cat breed with colored points (ears, mask, legs, tail), all 4 white feet, round blue eyes, flat forehead & short muzzle.
British Shorthair
Cat breed with full, round cheeks & chin, giving a 'chubby' appearance, stocky ('cobby') body, short, dense, plush fur.
Burmese
Cat breed with round head, wide-set, round, yellow-to-gold eyes, short muzzle, short-haired, and pointed.
Bombay
Cat breed developed by breeding a Burmese to a black American Shorthair; looks like a black Burmese, always black with copper eyes.
Cornish Rex
Cat breed with soft, wavy coat & curly whiskers, long, slender body & limbs, egg-shaped head, Roman nose, and very large ears.
Devon Rex
Cat breed with hair coat and body type similar to Cornish Rex, wedge-shaped head, short muzzle, large, wide-set ears and eyes, and frequently have down on ventrum.
Maine Coon
Cat breed with large ears with 'furnishings' (hair extending out), broad muzzle, very long plume tail, semi-long hair, large size, long, strong body, large paws, and high cheekbones.
Norwegian Forest Cat
Cat breed with long, heavy, double coat, long, bushy tail & ruff (collar), large, strong, & sturdy build, large, almond-shaped eyes, ear “furnishings”; hair does not mat and they keep themselves clean.
Persian
Cat breed with long, thick hair, any color but pointed, brachycephalic, small ears, large, round eyes, broad, round head & domed forehead, cobby body, and short, plumed tail carried low.
Himalayan
A pointed Persian cat.
Ragdoll
Very large, semi-longhaired, pointed cat breed that may have white feet, chest, & belly, long tail, blue eyes, very docile; muzzle is longer, eyes oval, and larger than Birman & Himalayan.
Russian Blue
Cat breed with dense, silver-tipped “blue” hair, almost round, green eyes, lanky and fine-boned, very soft, large, wide-set ears and angular, wedge-shaped head; they are shy.
Scottish Fold
Cat breed with folded-down ears, round head, large, wide-set, round eyes, cobby body, short or long- haired, and short muzzle; they are gentle.
Siamese
Pointed cat breed that is lanky with a long neck, body, & legs; has a long, wedge-shaped head, large ears, close-set, slightly slanted eyes, long, tapering, whippy tail, firm, lean muscles; they are active climbers/jumpers, very vocal, and like warmth.
Snowshoe
Short-haired and pointed cat breed with white on feet, chest, and face; they are long & muscular.
Sphynx
Cat breed with wrinkled skin, covered with light down, appears hairless, long, whippy, tapered tail, large, wide ears, and short muzzle; it is NOT hypoallergenic.
Turkish Angora
Semi-longhaired cat breed with silky coat, plumed tail, any color except chocolate or lavender, and slender, graceful body.
Turkish Van
Like the Turkish Angora, but always white w/red markings around ears & entire tail; white ears & blaze on forehead; loves to swim.

Non-purebred cat with short hair.
Domestic Medium Hair (DMH)
Non-purebred cat with medium length hair.
Domestic Long Hair (DLH)
Non-purebred cat with long hair.
