Explain the different sects of Buddhism.
Theravada: Dominates southeast Asia , ultimate goal is to reach Nirvana through study and meditation. Mostly consisted of Monks who were strictly believed to be capable of Nirvana.
Mahayana: Dominates Northern Asia, goal is to make sure everyone reaches Nirvana. Nirvana is achieved through normal life.
Zen: Found primarily in Japan. Focused on meditation as a way to gain self knowledge and enlightenment.
Tibetan: Common in the Himalayas, similar to Mahayana. Llamas are teachers in Tibetan tradition.
