Denary Numbers
Also known as Decimal Numbers; a Base 10 system that uses 10 unique symbols: (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9).
Binary Numbers
A Base 2 system that uses 2 unique symbols (0,1) representing states as on/off or high/low voltage.
Bit
The smallest unit of data, representing a single binary digit (0 or 1).
Byte
A unit of digital information that consists of 8 bits.
Nibble
A unit of digital information that consists of 4 bits, equivalent to one Hexa character.
Hexa Decimal
A Base 16 system using 16 unique characters (0−9 and A−F) to simplify binary representation for memory addressing and visualization.
Place Value
The value defined by the position of digits, which in the Denary system is represented by powers of ten such as 102, 101, and 100.
