What is inherent filtration?
The natural absorption of low-energy x-rays as the x-ray beam passes through parts of the tubehead

Glass window, insulating oil, tubehead seal
What does filtration do?
Helps remove low-energy x-rays that would be absorbed by the patient and would not contribute to image formation

The enamel
What do radiopaque structures look like?
Lighter or white due to absorption of x-rays
