Team Handball
A ball game with two teams each having seven players (six court players and one goalkeeper).
Game Duration
Sixty minutes, divided into two 30-minute halves with a 10-minute halftime.
Playing Field Dimensions
The field is 20 meters wide and 40 meters long, divided into two halves.
Goal Area (Circle)
An area up to six meters away from the goal, only the goalkeeper is allowed inside.
Goal Dimensions
The goal is three meters wide and two meters high, located at the end of the playing field.
Goal Scoring
A goal is scored when the ball fully crosses the goal line, counting as one point.
Game Start
Begins with each team on their own side; the center-front player passes to a teammate to start.
Advancing the Ball
Players can dribble and pass, allowed up to three steps without dribbling, then dribble, stop, and take three more steps.
Time Holding the Ball After Stopping
Players have three seconds to pass the ball once they stop moving.
Shooting Rules
Players must shoot from outside the circle; stepping inside results in a penalty.
Minor Violations
Includes taking more than three steps, double dribbling, or stepping into the circle.
Prohibited Actions
Pulling, hitting, or punching the ball out of an opponent’s hands, or making contact below the knees.
Free Throw
Awarded for minor fouls, taken immediately from the spot where the offense occurred; players must stay three meters away.
Penalty Shot
Awarded for major violations; an unguarded throw at the goal from the seven-meter line.
Penalty Shot Rules
Only the goalkeeper can defend, the player has three seconds to shoot, and all others must be outside the free throw line.
