Nitocris the Queen of Babylon
devised a certain trick as follows.
above the busiest gates of the city
she commissioned a tomb for herself high up
on top of the gates themselves
but she carved letters into the tomb
saying the following
if any of the kings of Babylon
who are born after me
are in need of money
let him open the tomb and take
as much money as he wants
however (at any rate) do not open
unless in need
unless in need
for it is not a good idea.’
