Imperative Form
The verb form used for commands, instructions, or advice, constructed using the base form of the verb without 'to' (or starting with 'Do not'/'Don't' for negatives).
Stative Verbs
Verbs that describe a state or condition rather than an action or process.
Verbs of Perception
Stative verbs describing sensory experiences, such as see, hear, smell, taste, and feel.
Verbs of Emotion
Stative verbs describing internal feelings and desires, such as love, hate, like, dislike, prefer, want, and need.
Verbs of Thought
Stative verbs describing mental processes and states of mind, such as know, believe, understand, realize, recognize, remember, forget, and mean.
Verbs of Possession
Stative verbs describing ownership and belonging, such as have, own, belong, and possess.
Measurement & State Verbs
Stative verbs describing states of being or physical measurements, such as be, seem, appear, contain, consist, include, cost, and weigh.
Overwhelmed
Emotionally or mentally overloaded; unable to cope.
Appalled
A strong feeling of shock or horror caused by something unpleasant.
Fancy
To like or be attracted to someone or something (often romantically or casually).
Frustrated
Feel annoyed or discouraged due to inability to succeed.
Devastated
Strongly disappointed and emotionally ruined by loss or bad news.
Braces
Clear orthodontic or metal devices for straightening teeth.
Wellingtons
Rubber boots worn in wet or muddy conditions.
Disapproving
Not approving of someone’s actions or choices; showing criticism.
Anxious
Feeling worried or uneasy, especially about something uncertain.
Long for
Feel strong desire or yearning for someone or something.
Drive someone up the wall
To greatly annoy or irritate someone.
Feel blue
To feel sad, depressed, or in a bad mood.
Jumping for joy
Expressing extreme happiness or excitement.
Find common ground
To reach an agreement or shared understanding despite differences.
Next of kin
An individual's closest living relatives.
Lanky
Tall and thin, often moving awkwardly.
Stocky
Short, solid, and strongly built.
Toddler
A young child who is approximately 1–3 years old and has recently learned to walk.
Snub nose
A short nose that turns up at the end.
Childish
Silly or immature behavior characteristic of a child, used negatively when applied to an adult.
Sensible
Demonstrating good sense, practical wisdom, and sound judgment.
Sensitive
Easily affected or upset by small things or criticism.
