Radiography
A technique that uses a single burst of X-ray to create a 2D image, primarily used in osteology.
CT Scan/CAT
An imaging method that provides multiple scans for a 3D visual, primarily used for soft tissues, kidneys, and gallstones.
DSA (Digital Subtraction Angiography)
A procedure where radiopaque material is injected into blood vessels, and before and after images are compared using a computer to display blood vessel images on a monitor.
Ultrasound (US)
A non-invasive and painless imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves emitted by hand-held devices, displayed on a video monitor, commonly used for fetal ultrasounds and examining other organs.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
An imaging technique that exposes the body to high-energy magnetic fields and uses pulses of radiowaves to generate detailed images of soft tissues on a video monitor.
PET (Positron Emission Tomography)
An imaging method where a substance emitting positively charged particles is injected into the body, releasing gamma rays that are detected by a camera to generate images displayed on a monitor.
