Strong Acids
Break apart in water

Weak Acids
They don’t break apart. Acids that are not acids are the Weak Acids
Bases
Has OH-
Neutralization Reaction
Double Displacement

Molecular Equation
Normal Balanced Chemical Equation

Total Ionic Equation
From the balanced equation, break them into individual atoms. Weak acids dont break apart
Add the changes from the Periodic table. The subscript goes before the atom’s symbol
Water does not break a part in the product side.

Net Ionic Equation
Delete the atoms that are on both side.
Write a new ionic equation without the double atoms on both side.

Reduction-Oxidation. aka Redox reaction
