Block of flats
A large building that contains many individual apartments or flats.

Flat
A set of rooms for living in, usually on one floor of a building; also known as an apartment.

Doorbell
A button outside a house that people press to announce their arrival.

Basement
A floor or room of a building that is below or partly below the level of the ground.

Front door
The main entrance to a house or building located at the front.

Attic
A space or room just below the roof of a house, typically used for storage.

Lock
A device used to keep a door or window shut, usually requiring a key to open.

Balcony
An area with a wall or bars around it that is joined to the outside wall of a building on an upper level.
First floor
The level of a building directly above the ground floor.

Ground floor
The floor of a building that is at the same level as the ground outside.

Landing
The flat area at the top of a staircase or between two flights of stairs.

Steps
A series of flat surfaces used for walking up or down to different levels.

Terrace
A flat, paved area outside a house, or a row of identical houses joined together.
