What are natural resources?
Materials from nature that have value to humans and can be used to meet their needs.
What is the difference between renewable and nonrenewable resources?
Renewable resources can be used repeatedly because they will be replaced, while nonrenewable resources do not regrow and cannot be replaced.
Give an example of a renewable resource.
Methane, hydro/solar power, or trees.
What does sustainability mean?
The use of the Earth’s resources in ways that ensure their availability for future generations.
What are some examples of sustainable practices?
Clean energy, water treatment, eco-friendly construction, waste reduction, recycling, and electric vehicles.
What is cultural ecology?
The study of how humans interact or adapt to the environment.
What is environmental determinism?
The belief that climate and landforms are the most powerful forces shaping human behavior and societal development.
How does possibilism differ from environmental determinism?
Possibilism acknowledges environmental limitations but emphasizes human cultural adaptation and modification.

What does scales of analysis refer to in geography?
It refers to the different levels at which data can be analyzed, including global, regional, national, and local.
