Snubbing someone by looking at your phone while chatting.
Grandstand
To act showily to attract attention, often done by storytellers along with hogging the limelight.
Hog the limelight
To monopolize public attention or focus during a social interaction or story.
Butting in
Interrupting while other people are talking.
Withhold judgment
To refrain from judging someone while listening and avoid offering unsolicited advice.
Unsolicited advice
Advice given to someone without them asking for it.
Self-absorbed
Preoccupied with oneself and staying in one's own little world.
Ring a few alarm bells
To cause concern or signal a potential problem.
Talking for the hell of it
Chatting just for the sake of chatting, without a specific reason or purpose.
Centre of attention
The person or focus that receives everyone's notice in a social setting.
Multi-generational households
Homes where multiple generations of a family reside together.
